A worldwide gaming entity, Allwyn, is purchasing Camelot Lottery Solutions Group, an American firm recognized for overseeing the Illinois Lottery. Camelot, held by the Ontario Teachers’ Retirement Fund, will partner with Allwyn to utilize their joint proficiency and assets within the lottery sector. This procurement will not result in any prompt managerial adjustments at Camelot. Allwyn is dedicated to collaborating closely with the Illinois Lottery to guarantee its ongoing prosperity and ethical expansion for optimizing income production within the state.

Upon completion of the purchase, the companies within the Camelot LS Group will transition into a fully owned subsidiary of Allwyn. Anticipated to finalize in the initial quarter of 2023, the transaction remains contingent upon customary closing prerequisites.

“The U.S. has consistently held a pivotal role in Allwyn’s expansion strategy,” stated Robert Chvátal, Allwyn’s Chief Executive Officer, “and the acquisition of Camelot LS Group represents the optimal step towards realizing that vision.”

Chvátal further remarked, “Allwyn is dedicated to enhancing the lottery experience for participants and aiding charitable organizations in generating increased funds. We are confident that by merging Allwyn’s proficiency with Camelot’s background, we can collectively attain these objectives.”

This development follows Allwyn’s successful bid to oversee the UK National Lottery in March 2022, succeeding Camelot, which had administered it for 28 years.
